About Jean Pierre Tapia
Hi, I’m Jean—a naturally curious and detail-driven professional who thrives on tackling challenges, achieving goals, and constantly learning. My career has been a mosaic of analytical precision and creative problem-solving, from managing multi-million-dollar transactions at Vanguard to homeschooling my kids through their formative years—a journey that taught me adaptability, innovation, and perseverance.
At Vanguard, I’ve recently embraced the chance to contribute as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Robo-Advisory platform. While this is an additional way I engage with innovation and collaboration, my primary focus remains on delivering high-impact results in my core role, where I strive to bridge insights with action and help systems work better for everyone.
Earlier in my journey, I thrived in diverse roles like managing a pilot bike share program at Bike & Roll, enhancing P&L through operational strategy at HMSHost, and turning cold-calling into a productive art at MetLife. Beyond the titles, it was the lessons—about adaptability, perseverance, and connection—that shaped who I am today.
Homeschooling my kids wasn’t just a responsibility; it was an adventure filled with challenges, rewards, and cherished memories. Every day meant tailoring lessons to their learning styles, researching methods, and finding creative ways to help them flourish. My daughter’s stubborn determination and creative spirit, paired with my son’s logical, methodical approach, pushed me to grow as both a teacher and a parent. It was an honor to contribute to their success and watch them thrive—though now, with both off exploring college life, I find myself missing those moments.
Today, I channel my energy into work and the goals that drive me. Whether it’s building better systems, tackling complex problems, or exploring new ideas, I approach every challenge with focus and curiosity. And when I’m not working, you might find me on a bike trail, hiking, coding, or improvising a dessert from pantry scraps—because no matter the task, there’s always room for creativity.
